My first impression of India was high culture plus high chaos.  But then I hadn't been to Kerala, a multicultural waterworld in India's southwest.

Last October Mandip Singh Soin, owner of  Ibex Expeditions, world-renowned explorer, environmentalist and friend, rounded up a group of  like-minded souls for a float along Kerala's waterways, a jungle trek in the Periyar Tiger Reserve and a roam through  Ft. Cochin, with a cultural legacy of Jews, Chinese, Muslims, Hindus, Christians, Dutch, British (have we left anybody out?) all of which makes for a very tolerable, tolerant, colorful  place, with a real sense of a sustainable future.
