We have always disliked the terms "sustainable" and "responsible". Even
though they are accurate and self-expanatory, they suggest a schoolmarm
striking you on the wrist and telling you to behave. Visting a place
and knowing that you have not damaged it envionmentally and culturally,
and perhap even leaving something positive behind, is as much a joy as
a duty. Our old friend the late Robbie Collins, who worked all over the
world to promote conservation of culture and the environment through
travel, liked to use the term Good Travel. We do too.
